Bakker contracted Vanderlande Industries to implement a revolutionary order picking system to fulfill 60,000 orders with 420.000 orderlines per day. The system is based on Vanderlande’s Order Distribution System (ODS) and resulted in a huge increase in efficiency. Order pickers can now pick up to 700 order lines per hour! This highly dynamic operation is controlled by the VISION Logistics Software Suite.
Wehkamp, the online department store in the Netherlands, is a customer of Vanderlande Industries since 1989 when they ordered the first cross belt sorter of Vanderlande Industries. Their batch picking and sortation system is since then running successfully in their DC in Dedemsvaart. The system enables Wehkamp to delivers 5 mio orders per year within 24 hours from a total assortment of 55.000 articles.
