Onninen has selected a new order fulfilment system, which will enable them to significantly improve order picking performance (up to 600 order lines per operator per hour), while ensuring ergonomic working conditions for the operators throughout the warehouse. This was also the main reason why Onninen selected Vanderlande. It will also enable Onninen to reduce order throughput time, improving customer service levels. The new order fulfilment centre will become operational by the end of 2010.
Plieger is a leading technical wholesaler of sanitary, heating, electrical and installation products in the Netherlands. They invested in an automated zone picking system with 24 zones, including a Warehouse Control System (WCS). This pick/pack system has brought Plieger major benefits, including lower operational costs, higher efficiency, productivity and picking accuracy and substantial process improvement.
Arrow Electronics is the world's largest distributor of electronic components. Their solution consists of an AS/RS for pallets, zone picking order fulfilment, Packing and Value Added Services, consolidation of weekly orders with a QUICKSTORE AS/RS, and shipping sortation. The system resulted in delivery reliability exceeding 99.5% and 95% of shipments delivered the next day.
Customer service is a must for forklift truck specialist TVH. From its automated warehouse in Waregem in South-West Belgium, TVH stocks 450,000 parts from which it meets more than 5,500 orders per day. Orders received before 18:00 hours, and last minute before 19:00 hours are shipped the same day, reaching customers throughout Europe within 24 hours and the rest of the world within 48 hours. Vanderlande Industries supplied the majority of the goods handling systems for TVH’s highly automated logistics process.
