Dynamic goods receiving system for apparel for La Halle Vivarte

La Halle (discount apparel) in Châteauroux, France, decided to mechanize its goods receiving process with a fully automated sortation system. La Halle is one of the major subsidiaries of Vivarte, which is the largest specialized distributor of fashion products in France. The system was designed and implemented by Vanderlande Industries.

This was Vivarte’s first major project in warehouse automation. By automating the goods receiving process, La Halle wanted to increase the performance of the distribution centre to be able to cope with future growth. This process enables a more direct supply of the operations area, easy correction of bad receptions, minimised manual workload and improved throughput and working conditions (noise, ergonomics). Core of the system are 4 automated sortation systems with 39 outfeeds.

La Halle selected Vanderlande because of the company’s knowledge and experience in the fashion sector, as well as substantial project management expertise.
