Zone Picking System for women’s underwear at Simone Pérèle
Simone Pérèle is one of the oldest women’s underwear (lingerie) creators and producers in France and Europe. The company has built its success on the high quality of its products and the originality of its product design (style). The company is established in 80 countries and sells more than 5 million items each year. The company has a consolidated annual turnover of € 75 million.
The distribution centre, based in Orléans, centralises the distribution operation for the Simone Pérèle group. The order picking process is based on an RF-based zone picking concept. Order picking is controlled by a Warehouse Management System with an interface to the JDE ERP system. The main characteristics of the system are:
- 2 collecting lines for receipts
- Central order start
- Main conveyor loop on 2 levels with recirculation
- 8 pick zones
- a flexible Value Added Services and packing area, including a carton closing machine
- a pallet conveyor to buffer pallets between goods receiving and production
- Warehouse Management System, including zone picking module
