Vanderlande Industrties successfully launches new goods-to-man solutions for automated warehouses at CeMAT
Veghel - At CeMAT 2008, held in Hannover, Germany May 27-31, Vanderlande Industries successfully launched its new goods-to-man solutions for automated warehouses. These new solutions enable customers to organise their distribution process in the most efficient, cost effective way, from Goods Receiving right through to Shipping.
At CeMAT, the company showed that its new goods-to-man based Compact Picking System (CPS) is the ideal solution for warehouses and distribution centres requiring high productivity and a very high customer service level, while keeping operational costs down. It is a highly flexible solution, enabling customers to adapt to changes in their business, such as an increase in the number of sales outlets, changes in store formats or product range offered.
Ergonomic item picking solutions delivering sustainable performance
During the event Vanderlande Industries unveiled its new PICK@EASE high performance order picking workstation. Workstations are an essential part of goods-to-man solutions. The new PICK@EASE workstation family enables a proven sustainable high operator performance thanks to ergonomic design principles which were applied right from the start of development. Objective was to design workstations which measurably improve operator performance, decrease risk of work-related injury and illness, decrease operator discomfort and improve the quality of work life. The workstations have been developed in close cooperation with Dutch research institute TNO. They also researched the actual product on its ergonomic merits during a series of real-life operator tests held at Vanderlande Industries’ Innovation Centre in Veghel. The German TüV has now validated TNO’s assessment and certified the ergonomics claims and sustainable performance.
Live demonstrations in the Innovation Centre
After CeMAT, a series of customer workshops has started in the Vanderlande Industries Innovation Centre in Veghel, the Netherlands. During live demonstrations customers can experience the new goods-to-man solutions and the new PICK@EASE workstation in real life and acquire an in-depth understanding of the benefits it brings for their own situation.
